Q front cover number 1

Adele

The magazine is mainly dominated by a large photo. In this case the cover is dominated by Adele's side profile and she is looking right at the camera to draw you into the magazine. Similarly her makeup has been done really professionally and quite simple to make Adele look innocent likewise the make up has been done in a subtle way to match the gold red and white colour scheme, this is show through the use of the browny red eye shadow and the pale nails which contrast the gold plug. This wouldn't be the same if the makeup was bright and the colours used were primary colours like blues and reds. Bright colours are used to attract your attention to the magazine so you would pick it up off the shelf over magazines that are less colourful like rock magazines. In this case there is a 3 scheme colour scheme which is red, white and black. However gold is used to make the '300th issue' stand out this is called a plug. The magazine is aimed at an audience that are quite young and current as Adele is very current herself. Similarly it is more aimed at a female audience as Adele herself is a very strong woman and a likable character. Similarly the stories around the outside of Adele are in contrasting colours to the background that they are against. For example 'Liam Gallagher' is in red writing and Liam stands out as it is in a large font. The magazine logo is a very prominent feature as it is bright red and it is in the left hand side corner. This magazine definitely reaches its target audience perfectly completely down to the design and layout of the front cover. For my magazine I am going to do a similar thing with the model by making the photo cover the majority of the page and I am going to be specific with the makeup and clothing that I use so that it doesn't go against my colour scheme.
